Why? A few reasons:
1:Games and Friends!
Tabletop is home to a diverse array of friendly individuals and quirky characters from graduate students, local community members, to people in other states. Even if you have trouble socializing, it's not hard to have a good smile over some board games, and quickly get to connect to the community around you.
2: Prizes!
Yes! How? By bringing food, new people, or new board games to the club! What prizes?!?! Were working on it! WHEN?!? End of the semester.
3: Discounts!
Right now we have a special going on in partnership with Empire Board Games, If you are a part of the club, then you get a wonderful discount (and eventually others). It'll only cost $6 to stay at Empire from 11:59am to 11:59pm the last Friday of every month. $6 for 12 hours ain't bad. As we grow, and our partnerships develop, we'll have a sizable number of discounts for members to use. If there's ever a way to min-max what you get out of a club, this is it!
4:T-shirts!
Tabletop Tavern has its own T-shirts supported by Empire Board Game Library. They cost $20 and a call will be put out whenever we order more, so get ya Merch on!
5: Helping Us Help You
As a UNM club, we are required to have a good count of how many people are actively participating in our club. The better our count, the more we can request from UNM. This means that if we can show we're big, then we get a better budget (better prizes and games), and your recorded membership helps us survive the audit. Plus, when we create events, having an accurate account of who may come will help us bring in other clubs and sponsors, and helps us figure out tabling, catering, and all of those wonderful things.
